EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces Promotions







Captain Randy L. Becker, Commanding Officer of Troop I, Rolla, announces the following promotions, which went into effect on September 17, 2006.



Sergeant Steve P. Davis was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and assigned to Troop I Headquarters. Lieutenant Davis was appointed to the Highway Patrol on January 1, 1992, and assigned to Crawford County in Troop I upon his graduation. On June 1, 1994, he transferred at his request to Laclede County. Lieutenant Davis was promoted to Corporal on September 1, 1997, and assigned to Zone Two, which covers Phelps and Maries Counties. On July 1, 2001, Lieutenant Davis was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and took over the responsibilities as Zone Commander of Zone Four, Pulaski County.



Lieutenant Davis is a native of Muskogee, Oklahoma and a 1986 graduate of Muskogee High School. He later attended Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri where he played football and graduated with a bachelor of science degree. Lieutenant Davis is married to Monica Davis (Bowles) and they have three children, Ashton, Madison and Drake.



Lieutenant Davis is a 32 Degree Mason and a member of the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine. He has also served on the Pulaski County Ambulance District Board of Directors and was vice-president of the Missouri State Trooper’s Association from 2001-2005.



Corporal Darryl C. Suhr was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and designated as the Zone Commander of Zone Four, Pulaski County. Corporal Suhr is native of Hillsboro, Missouri and a 1980 graduate of Hillsboro High School. Sergeant Suhr also attended Jefferson Junior College, where he studied law enforcement and electronics technology.



Sergeant Suhr was hired by the Highway Patrol as a Motor Vehicle Inspection Officer on February 1, 1984. On March 1, 1986, Sergeant Suhr transferred to the Highway Patrol’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division. Sergeant Suhr was selected to begin training for the position of trooper on July 1, 1989. Upon graduation from the academy he was stationed in Troop I, Zone One, which at that time patrolled Phelps, Dent and Maries Counties. On November 1, 1994, he was promoted to the rank of Corporal and assigned to Zone Seven, Dent County. Sergeant Suhr is married to Wanda Suhr (Hobson) and they have four children, Zachary, Nicholas, Elijah and Michelle.



Trooper Terry A. Gayer was promoted to the rank of Corporal and designated as the Assistant Zone Commander of Zone Seven, Dent County.



Corporal Gayer is a native of Cabool, Missouri and a 1992 graduate of Houston High School. Corporal Gayer is also a 2000 graduate of Drury University in Springfield, where he obtained a bachelor of science degree in Criminology. Prior to his appointment to the Highway Patrol, Corporal Gayer was employed by the Cabool Police Department.

Corporal Gayer began his academy training on January 1, 1999. He was assigned to Zone Four, Pulaski County, following his graduation.

Corporal Gayer is married to Angela Nash and they have four children, Cheyenne, Sierra, Jacob and Megan.
