EMPHASIS: Laclede County Resident Arrested on Drug Charges and Counterfeiting

At approximately 6:55 p.m., March 16, 2006, a Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper obtained consent to search the Laclede County residence of Kevin W. Evans, 48, after receiving information that criminal activity was occurring inside the home.

During the search, troopers, with the assistance of the Lebanon Police Department, Laclede County Sheriff’s Department and the U.S. Secret Service, located methamphetamine and methamphetamine by-products inside the residence. The officers also located approximately $6,000.00 in counterfeit money during their investigation and forging instruments to produce the bills inside the home.

Evans was incarcerated in the Laclede County Jail on the following charges; Possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), counterfeiting, forgery, possession with the intent to distribute, possessing a forging instrument and possessing drug paraphernalia.

The charges for which Evans has been arrested are mere accusations and are not evidence of his guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
