EMPHASIS: Trooper Wayne Allman Memorial Bridge Dedication in Cass County





The Missouri State Highway Patrol will hold a dedication ceremony in honor of Trooper Wayne Allman at 1:00 p.m., on October 26, 2004. The ceremony will be held at the Missouri 7 and Route B interchange overpass in Creighton, Missouri.

Trooper Wayne Allman was fatally injured in a traffic crash on Missouri 35 in Cass County on October 27, 1955. Trooper Allman was responding to another traffic crash when an oncoming car turned in front of him. He swerved his patrol car to the left to avoid hitting the other car. His patrol car sideswiped a second oncoming vehicle. Trooper Allman was thrown from his patrol car as it overturned. He died a short time later. Trooper Allman was the seventh trooper to be killed in the line of duty.
