EMPHASIS: Joshua Lyons Arrested For Incest And Endangering The Welfare Of A Child

On April, 4, 2010, a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper was called to a residence in rural Schuyler County, Missouri, to a complaint of a crime involving a juvenile. During the course of the investigation, information was obtained of an unrelated sexual assault of a 15-year-old Schuyler County male. The sexual assault was determined to have occurred in 2009, in Schuyler County.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., on April 9, 2010, Joshua D. Lyons, 19, of Kirksville, Missouri, was arrested near his residence on a felony Schuyler County warrant and a Kirksville Municipal Court warrant. The Schuyler County warrant was issued for two felony counts of incest and felony endangering the welfare of a child. The Kirksville municipal warrant was issued for stealing. Lyons was incarcerated in the Adair County Jail where he is being held on a $50,000 cash only bond.
The Schuyler County Sheriff's Department and Kirksville Police Department assisted the Missouri State Highway Patrol with the investigation.
The charges for which Lyons was arrested are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
