EMPHASIS: Results Of DWI Checkpoint In Jackson County On March 17, 2010


Captain Robert L. Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted on March 17, 2010. The checkpoint was a joint effort with the Kansas City Police Department and the Jackson County Sheriff's Department.
A total of 910 cars were checked during this operation. Members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol made a total of 18 DWI arrests, three misdemeanor warrant arrests, and two misdemeanor drug arrests. In addition, 64 warnings were issued.
Captain Powell stated, "The checkpoints are part of the continuing effort by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and other law enforcement agencies to remove intoxicated drivers from the highways of our state. If you drink alcohol, please do not drive."
