EMPHASIS: Leads sought in John Garrett investigation, Dade County
On August 22, 2003 John Garrett of Everton, Missouri was found dead in his residence. An autopsy was performed that determined the cause of death to be a single gunshot wound. The Dade County Sheriffs Department and Prosecuting Attorney in conjunction with the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control have exhausted many leads and want to reexamine others.
Garrett, a native of Springfield, Missouri was last seen at Wal-Mart on West Bypass in Springfield on the afternoon of Thursday August 21, 2003. Garrett’s biological son and the boy’s stepfather discovered Garrett’s body on Friday morning August 22.
Information leading to the arrest of a subject, or subjects who murdered John Garrett is requested. Anyone recalling details about John Garrett, his family, acquaintances or suspicious activities near the date of the homicide are asked to contact the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of drug and Crime Control, Troop D, at (417) 895-6868.
