EMPHASIS: Methamphetamine And Marijuana Seized By Missouri State Highway Patrol
On Tuesday, June 19, 2007, an officer of the Missouri State Highway Patrol initiated a traffic stop on Interstate 44 in Franklin County. The eastbound 1998 Jeep Cherokee was stopped for a traffic violation. Due to statements made by the occupants of the Jeep, consent to search was requested by the trooper and granted. Methamphetamine was located in the glove box and marijuana was found in a clothes basket and a cooler.
The driver, Quintina Johnson, 53, of Phoenix, AZ, and Stephanie P. Hammond, 36, of Phoenix, AZ, were arrested for possession with the intent to distribute marijuana and possession of methamphetamine. Both subjects were transported to the Franklin County Detention Facility in Union, MO.
The charges for which the above subjects are accused are mere accusations and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
