EMPHASIS: Arrest made for Leaving the Scene of an Accident
On February 28, 2004, a Missouri State Highway Patrolman investigated a two-vehicle accident on Rt. F at the intersection of Springfield Road in Crawford County, which resulted in injuries to Mary J. Stout, age 48, of Cuba. Investigation at the accident scene revealed that a pickup truck apparently failed to yield and struck Stout’s vehicle in the side, causing it to overturn and come to rest in a ditch. Following the collision, the vehicle that struck Stout’s truck left the scene.
After developing additional information, the next day the investigating trooper arrested James D. Ramori, age 32, of Cuba, at his residence. He was charged with Felony Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Careless and Imprudent Driving. He was incarcerated at the Crawford County Jail and will be held pending the issuance of warrants.
The chares for which Ramori has been arrested are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
