EMPHASIS: Troop G Christmas Holiday Totals
Captain Billy E. Chadwick, commanding officer, Troop G, Willow Springs, announces the following traffic totals for the C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) Life Savers Weekend conducted Friday, December 18, through Sunday, December 20, 2009:
Troop G reported zero fatal traffic crashes, investigated two alcohol-related traffic crashes, and investigated seven traffic crashes on C.A.R.E. designated highways. Troopers made six DWI arrests, and issued 231 speeding citations and 52 seat belt tickets. Additionally, officers provided 57 motorist assists.
Troop G troopers also investigated 13 traffic crashes, resulting in seven injuries and zero fatalities and made one DWI arrest for the period of 6:00 p.m., Thursday, December 24, through 11:59 p.m., Sunday, December 27.
Captain Chadwick said, “We are very pleased that we did not experience any traffic fatalities in Troop G this Christmas holiday season. By working together, we can make the upcoming New Year’s holiday period a safe one as well. Please buckle up and don’t drink and drive.”
