EMPHASIS: Macon County Resident Arrested On Drug Charges

On September 27, 2010, at approximately 4:10 p.m., Paul T. Harrington, 56, of Bevier, Missouri, was arrested for felony manufacturing of a controlled substance (marijuana); felony possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) with intent to distribute; possession of drug paraphernalia; and no valid driver's license. Harrington was arrested following an on-going investigation of marijuana plants being grown in a wooded area in northwestern Macon County. Following his arrest, a search was conducted at Harrington's residence in Bevier, Missouri, where processed packages of marijuana, and paraphernalia were seized. Harrington was transported to the Macon County Sheriff's Department where he is currently being held on a $50,000 bond.
The on-going investigation is being conducted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Macon County Sheriff's Department, Missouri State Water Patrol, and Bevier Police Department.
The charges for which Harrington was arrested are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented to a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
