EMPHASIS: DWI Checkpoints In Clay County, Missouri
Captain Robert L. Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee’s Summit, announces two sobriety checkpoints will be held in Clay County, Missouri, sometime during the month of August 2008. The checkpoints will be a joint effort conducted with the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department.
The checkpoints are part of the continuing efforts of the Missouri State Highway Patrol and other law enforcement agencies to remove intoxicated drivers from the roadways. The checkpoints consist of officers stopping drivers at set locations and testing those who have been drinking.
Captain Powell stated, “Removing intoxicated drivers continues to be a high priority for the Missouri State Highway Patrol. If you are going to drink, please do not drive.”
