EMPHASIS: Results from DWI checkpont, McDonald County
On Saturday evening, July 10, 2004, the Missouri State Highway Patrol conducted a DWI checkpoint in McDonald County. The checkpoint location was determined by past arrests, incidents and accidents in the area.
In four hours of operation the checkpoint netted 27 arrests; 14 misdemeanor DWI arrests, 1 stop sign arrest, 1 other misdemeanor arrest, 1 seat belt arrest and 10 arrests for non-moving violations. A total of 45 warnings were issued.
Troop D Captain John Prine applauds the efforts of troopers who, on a daily basis, apprehend drivers who are breaking the law. “Drinking and driving will not be tolerated and individuals who decide to break the law will be apprehended and delt with appropriately.”
