EMPHASIS: Captain Powell Announces Promotion Of Trooper J.D. Ogden


Captain Robert L. Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee's Summit, announces the following promotion effective July 1, 2010:

Trooper J. D. "Derek" Ogden was promoted to the rank of corporal and will be designated as the assistant zone supervisor of Zone 5, which serves Ray and Carroll counties. Ogden was appointed to the Patrol on October 17, 2004, as part of the 83rd Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop A, Zone 15, serving Henry County.

Before joining the Patrol, he earned a bachelor’s of science degree in criminal justice in 2003, from the University of Central Missouri, in Warrensburg. He is originally from Gainesville, MO, and graduated from Gainesville High School, in 1999. Corporal Ogden is married to Sandi (Burnett), formerly of Kingston, MO.
