EMPHASIS: Sobriety Checkpoints To Be Held In Jefferson And Perry Counties
Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, St. Louis, announces that sobriety checkpoints will be held in Jefferson and Perry counties sometime in the month of May. The Missouri State Highway Patrol, in cooperation with other area law enforcement agencies, will conduct the checkpoints.
Sobriety checkpoints are part of the Patrol’s efforts to remove intoxicated drivers from Missouri’s highways, and are conducted at various locations which have been found to experience a higher than normal number of alcohol-related contacts.
Captain Johnson says, “Intoxicated drivers compromise the safety of every person who travels on Missouri roads. Please assist the Missouri State Highway Patrol by calling 1-800-525-5555 or cellular *55 when you see someone driving under the influence of alcohol.”
