EMPHASIS: Section Of Interstate 70 Closed Due To Traffic Crash
Captain Dale A. Schmidt, commanding officer of Troop F, Jefferson City, would like to make the public aware of a traffic crash on Interstate 70. Due to this crash, which involved tractor-trailers, the eastbound lanes of I-70 are closed near the 89-mile marker. Eastbound I-70 traffic is being re-routed at U.S. Highway 65 south to U.S. Highway 50 east to Missouri Highway 5, then north back to I-70. Drivers should anticipate delays until the scene is cleared.
The westbound lanes of I-70 are open to traffic.
“The Missouri State Highway Patrol wants to thank travelers in advance for their patience as we clear the traffic crash scene,” said Capt. Schmidt. “Please drive safely and remember to buckle up.”
