EMPHASIS: Clarence Residents Arrested On Drug Charges

On Saturday, October 18, 2008, at approximately 1:51 a.m., members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Macon County Sheriff’s Department, Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, North Missouri Drug Task Force, and the Missouri Department of Conservation executed a search warrant at 11390 Monroe County Road 1190, near Duncans Bridge, Missouri, in Monroe County. The search warrant stemmed from a lengthy investigation of a marijuana growing operation south of Bevier, Missouri, in Macon County. During the execution of the search warrant, numerous marijuana plants were found drying in sheds, campers, and inside of the residence. Officers also located a large sum of United States currency and several weapons.
Following the investigation officers arrested Diana Cathey, 58; Richard N. Bagwell, 60; and Jonapha L. Bagwell, 57, all of rural Clarence, Missouri. Each of the individuals were arrested for felony producing a controlled substance (marijuana), felony possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), and maintaining a public nuisance. They are currently being held in the Randolph County Jail pending issuance of warrants.
The charges for which the above individuals were arrested are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
