EMPHASIS: Troop B Officers To Participate In "10-Mile Trooper Project"
Captain John W. Elliott, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces that Troop B officers will be involved in a program to provide maximum manpower of troopers during the peak travel days of the Labor Day holiday weekend. The “10-Mile Trooper Project” is designed to assign a trooper every 10 miles on a designated highway in Troop B. The designated highway for this operation will be U.S. Highway 36. The dates of the enforcement program will be September 4, and September 7, 2009. Missouri state troopers also will be participating in Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) during the entire Labor Day holiday weekend. Troopers will be enforcing traffic violations and assisting the motoring public who encounter problems.
Motorists are encouraged to call the Patrol at 1-800-525-5555 or *55 on a cellular phone to report careless driving actions, suspected intoxicated drivers, traffic crashes, crimes in progress, or any other emergency.
