EMPHASIS: Two Monroe County Residents Killed After Apparent Tornado Strikes Mobile Home
On Thursday, October 18, 2007, at approximately 12:15 a.m., an apparent tornado struck a mobile home, located on Missouri Route F, approximately six miles northeast of Holliday, Missouri. The mobile home was completely destroyed and debris was scattered over a quarter mile area. Law enforcement officers and fire department personnel searched the area and located the two occupants of the mobile home, Kent C. Ensor, 44, and Kristy L. Secrease, 25, among the debris, several hundred feet north of where the home had been located. Monroe County Sheriff Gary Tawney pronounced Ensor and Secrease dead at the scene. The bodies of Ensor and Secrease were taken to the Agnew Funeral Home in Paris, Missouri.
Several other areas in Monroe County sustained storm damage, which at this time is believed to consist of fallen tree limbs and minor property damage.
Agencies assisting at the scene consisted of the Paris Rural Fire Department, Madison Fire Department, Shelbina Fire Department, Shelbyville Fire Department, Monroe City Fire Department, Little Dixie Fire Department, Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
