EMPHASIS: Results Of DWI Saturations In Benton County And Henry County
Captain Robert L. Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee's Summit, announces the results of driving while intoxicated saturations conducted on July 2, 2010, in Benton County, and July 3, 2010, in Henry County. Troopers placed special emphasis on patrolling those highways where in the past a higher number of impaired drivers were either involved in a traffic crash or arrested for DWI.
During the eight hour enforcement operation conducted on July 2, 2010, in Benton County, four troopers stopped a total of 45 cars, and issued 17 citations and 38 warnings. The following is a breakdown of the traffic arrests:
2 -- DWI
2 -- speed
5 -- seat belt
2 -- driver's license
2 -- non-moving
4 -- misdemeanor drug arrests
38 warnings
During the eight hour enforcement operation conducted on July 3, 2010, in Henry County, four troopers stopped a total of 49 cars, and issued 20 citations and 56 warnings. The following is a breakdown of the traffic arrests:
2 -- DWI
8 -- speed
5 -- seat belt
4 -- non-moving
1 -- misdemeanor warrant
56 warnings
