EMPHASIS: Special Olympics T-Shirt Sales



Officers from Troop G of the Missouri State Highway Patrol will be selling “Torch Run” T-shirts to raise money to support Special Olympics Missouri. The T-shirts will be on sale at the Ava Wal-Mart Supercenter on Saturday, May 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with all proceeds going to benefit Special Olympics athletes from Douglas County.

Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition to children and adults with mental or closely related developmental disabilities. The culmination of the fund-raising efforts comes each year when law enforcement officers carry the “Flame of Hope” torch across the state to its final destination, the Special Olympics Summer Games in Columbia, Missouri.
