EMPHASIS: Troop C Operation P.R.O.T. E.C.T. Results In St. Charles County



Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, St Louis, is pleased to announce the results of the Operation P.R.O.T.E.C.T. project that was conducted on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, in St. Charles County, on U.S. Highway 40 and Callahan Road. During the eight-hour project, 14 troopers focused their attention on violations that occurred in the construction/work zone on U.S. 40 and Callahan Road.

As a result of the enforcement program, a total of 63 summonses and 44 warnings were issued. Of those summonses, 62 individuals were cited for exceeding the speed limit and one for no seat belt. During the eight-hour project, 65 vehicles were stopped for various traffic violations.

“This operation was a complete success and every time we conduct this type of operation it keeps the workers, as well as the motoring public, safe,” said Capt. Johnson. “Please obey the reduced speed limits and be attentive while driving through construction zones.”
