EMPHASIS: Free Hazardous Materials Regulations and Procedures Workshop



The Missouri State Highway Patrol encourages members of the public who ship or transport hazardous materials commercially to attend a FREE workshop from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at St. Louis Community College, Florissant Valley Campus Student Center, 3400 Pershall Road, St. Louis, MO 63135-1499. This informational seminar is designed to give attendees a basic knowledge of regulatory requirements -- what they are, how they apply, and how to meet them. It is NOT designed as a complete or detailed class on every aspect of hazardous material regulations. (This workshop will not satisfy HM126 training requirements of 49 CFR Section 172.700.)



Topics at this free workshop will include: What you need to know if you ship hazardous materials; Roadside commercial vehicle inspections while transporting hazardous materials; Basic requirements if you test and inspect or operate cargo tanks; State requirements if you are subject to these regulations; Hazardous material training requirements if you are subject to these regulations; and, Hazard communications requirements (shipping papers, marking, labeling, placarding).
