EMPHASIS: New Troopers Assigned to Troop A
Captain Vincent J. Ellis, commanding officer of Troop A in Lee’s Summit announces the assignment of six new troopers to Troop A. Thirty-three troopers graduated from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy located in Jefferson City, Missouri on July 14, 2006 and reported for duty on July 31, 2006.
Trooper Jason L. Prater has been assigned to Zone 16 in Benton County. Trooper Prater is a native of Pierce City, Missouri and graduated from Mount Vernon High School. He was a self-employed contractor prior to joining the patrol. Trooper Prater is married to the former Jennifer Copeland of Pierce City, Missouri and the couple have two children.
Trooper Andrew G. Warner has been assigned to Zone 16, Benton County. Trooper Warner is a native of Platte City, Missouri and graduated from Platte County R-III High School. He attended William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Communications.
Trooper Dustin J. Berry has been assigned to Zone 5, Carroll/Ray Counties. Trooper Berry is a native of Shelbyville, Missouri and graduated from North Shelby High School. He attended Moberly Area Community College in Moberly, Missouri and received a Law Enforcement Certificate. Trooper Berry was a deputy for the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department prior to his employment with the patrol. Trooper Berry is married to the former Lanise Bichsel of Leonard, Missouri.
Trooper Clay D. Moeller has been assigned to Zone 5, Carroll/Ray Counties. Trooper Moeller is a native of Platte City, Missouri and graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School. He attended Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas and holds an Associate of Arts degree in Administration of Justice. He is a member of the Army Reserves and holds the rank of Sergeant First Class. His occupation with the Army Reserves is that of surgical technician and combat medic.
Trooper Chad T. Herrun has been assigned to Zone 10, Saline County. Trooper Herrun is a native of Mexico, Missouri and graduated from Mexico High School. He attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Trooper Herrun is married to the former Trisha Logerman of Mexico, Missouri.
Trooper Douglas E. Fessenden has been assigned to Zone 10, Saline County. Trooper Fessenden is a native of Palmyra, Missouri and graduated from Palmyra High School. He attended Hannibal LaGrange College in Hannibal, Missouri. Trooper Fessenden was a corporal in the United States Marine Corps and served in the security forces infantry. He was a deputy with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department prior to joining the patrol.
