Troop A Announces Promotions
Captain Steven V. Wilhoit, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee’s Summit, announces the following promotions effective December 1, 2023.
Trooper Austin D. Lindgren has been promoted to the rank of corporal and designated the assistant zone supervisor of Zone 7, serving the citizens of Jackson County. Lindgren was appointed to the Patrol on February 1, 2010, as a member of the 91
st
Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, he was assigned to Troop C, Zone 8, serving the citizens of St. Charles County. In November of 2014, Lindgren transferred to Troop A, Zone 6, serving the citizens of Jackson County, where he remained until his promotion.
Corporal Lindgren was born in Princeton, Minnesota. He graduated from Princeton High School in Princeton, Minnesota in 2000. Before joining the Patrol, Corporal Lindgren attended Rutgers University in Camden, New Jersey, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in liberal arts in 2007. Corporal Lindgren is married and has three children.

Trooper Dakota K. Fletcher has been promoted to the rank of corporal and designated the assistant zone supervisor of Zone 5, serving the citizens of Ray and Carroll Counties. Fletcher was appointed to the Patrol on January 4, 2016, as a member of the 102nd Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, he was assigned to Troop A, Zone 4, serving the citizens of Clay County. In October of 2020, Fletcher transferred to Troop A, Zone 2, serving the citizens of Platte County, where he remained until his promotion.
Corporal Fletcher was born in St. Joseph, Missouri. He graduated from Cameron High School in Cameron, Missouri in May of 2008. Before joining the Patrol, Corporal Fletcher attended the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice in May of 2012.

Trooper Brian N. Marquart is being promoted to the rank of corporal and will remain in his current assignment as a marine operations trooper assigned to Zone 19, which covers the northern portion of Troop A. Marquart was appointed to the Patrol on January 2, 2014, as a member of the 98th Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, he was assigned to Troop A, Zone 4, serving the citizens of Clay County. In April of 2019, Marquart transferred to Troop A, Zone 19, serving as a marine operations trooper, where he remained until his promotion.
Corporal Marquart was born in Ballwin, Missouri. He graduated from John F. Kennedy Catholic High School in Manchester, Missouri in May of 2006. Before joining the Patrol, Corporal Marquart attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice in May of 2010. Corporal Marquart is married and has two children.

Trooper Gary D. Oetting is being promoted to the rank of corporal and will remain in his current assignment as a commercial vehicle enforcement trooper assigned to Zone 18. Oetting was appointed to the Missouri State Water Patrol on October 1, 1995, as a member of the 27th recruit class. Upon graduating from the Water Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, he was assigned to District 2, serving Lake of the Ozarks. In May of 2006, Oetting transferred to District 1, serving west central Missouri. Upon the merger of the Missouri State Water Patrol and Missouri State Highway Patrol on January 1, 2011, Oetting was assigned to Troop A as a marine operations trooper in Zone 19, which covers the northern portion of Troop A. In November of 2020, Oetting transferred to Zone 18 as a commercial vehicle enforcement trooper, where he remained until his promotion.
Corporal Oetting was born in Lexington, Missouri. He graduated from Higginsville High School in Higginsville, Missouri in 1987. Before joining the Patrol, Corporal Oetting attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice administration in May of 1992. Corporal Oetting is married and has two children.
