EMPHASIS: 12 New Troopers Assigned To Troop A


Captain Robert L. Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, announces the assignment of 12 new troopers to Troop A. These officers began training at the Highway Patrol Academy in Jefferson City, Missouri, on July 1, 2009, and graduated on December 18, 2009, after receiving comprehensive training covering all facets of law enforcement.

Trooper Scott E. Culver will be assigned to Zone 2, which patrols Platte County. His training officer is Corporal Matthew B. Koch. Trooper Culver is a graduate of Rock Falls High School, in Rock Falls, Illinois, and Colorado Technical University in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he earned a bachelor's of science degree in criminal justice. He and his wife, Cheryl (Estelle), have three children, Justin, 20, Savannah, 12, Audrianna, 7, and two grandchildren, Taylor, 2, and Michael, two months.
Trooper John M. Harrison will be assigned to Zone 2, which patrols Platte County. His training officer is Corporal Greg D. Primm. Trooper Harrison is a graduate of Mound City R-2 High School, in Mound City, Missouri, and attended Missouri Western State University, in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Trooper Matthew J. Yoder will be assigned to Zone 2, which patrols Platte County. His training officer is Corporal Brian E. Kelley. Trooper Yoder is a graduate of Nixa High School, in Nixa, Missouri, and Ozarks Technical Community College in Springfield, Missouri, where he earned an associate’s of arts degree in general education.
Trooper Rickey I. McQuerrey II will be assigned to Zone 3, which patrols Clay County. His training officer is Trooper Ryan J. Wilhoit. Trooper McQuerrey is a graduate of Lawson High School, in Lawson, Missouri, and Colorado Technical University, in Kansas City, Missouri, where he earned an associate’s of science degree in healthcare information management. Trooper McQuerrey has three children, Dace, 10, and three-year-old twins, Evie and Vivien.
Trooper Karime T. McWilliams will be assigned to Zone 7, which patrols Jackson County. Her training officer is Corporal John W. Dick. Trooper McWilliams is a graduate of Lee’s Summit High School, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Columbia College, in Columbia, Missouri, where she earned a bachelor’s of science degree in criminal justice.
Trooper Roger P. Rudstrom will be assigned to Zone 7, which patrols Jackson County. His training officer is Trooper Christopher R. Blackmon. Trooper Rudstrom is a graduate of Andover High School in Andover, Minnesota, and Alexandria Technical College, in Alexandria, Minnesota, where he earned an associate’s of science degree in law enforcement.
Trooper Dennis E. Hill will be assigned to Zone 8, which patrols Lafayette County. His training officer is Corporal Andrew J. Bell. Trooper Hill is a graduate of Moberly High School in Moberly, Missouri, and the University of Central Missouri, in Warrensburg, Missouri, where he earned a bachelor’s of science degree and master’s of science degree in criminal justice.
Trooper Dennis D. Mathes will be assigned to Zone 10, which patrols Saline County. His training officer is Trooper Doug E. Fessenden. Trooper Mathes graduated from Clark County R-1 High School in Kahoka, Missouri, and attended Southeastern Community College, in Keokuk, Iowa. Trooper Mathes earned an associate’s of arts degree in criminal justice from Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Missouri.
Trooper Nathan D. Wallace will be assigned to Zone 10, which patrols Saline County. His training officer is Corporal Darren K. Lilleman. Trooper Wallace is a graduate of Skyline High School, in Urbana, Missouri, and attended Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri.
Trooper R. Jayson Hastings will be assigned to Zone 11, which patrols Cass County. His training officer is Corporal Thomas G. Sims. Trooper Hastings is a graduate of Republic High School, in Republic, Missouri, and attended Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri. He is married to Regina (Bell) and they have two children, Hunter, 8, and Kylee, 4.
Trooper Douglas W. Pfeifer will be assigned to Zone 11, which patrols Cass County. His training officer is Trooper Carl A. Taibi. Trooper Pfeifer is a graduate of Laquey High School, in Laquey, Missouri, and attended Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. Trooper Pfeifer is married to Brandy (Baker).
Trooper George B. Wright will be assigned to Zone 11, which patrols Cass County. His training officer is Trooper Manuel D. Miranda. Trooper Wright is a graduate of Conway High School, in Conway, Arkansas, and Missouri Southern State University, in Joplin, Missouri, where he earned a bachelor’s of science degree in criminal justice. He is engaged to Whitney Nicole Roberts.
