Perryville Man Arrested For Promoting Child Pornography
The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control announces the arrest of Timothy John Speer, 27, of Perryville, Missouri, for promoting child pornography and possession of child pornography. Speer was arrested on January 30, 2017, after an investigation conducted by members of the Division of Drug and Crime Control’s Digital Forensics Investigative Unit.
On Monday, investigators executed a search warrant at Speer’s residence located on the 800 block of Jenkins Street, in Perryville. As a result of the contact, investigators located child pornography and computer equipment used to commit the crimes. Speer was arrested and transported to the Perry County Jail.
Tuesday, the Perry County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office formally charged Speer with possession of child pornography ─ more than 20 pictures and promoting child pornography 1st degree. Speer is being held on a $75,000 bond. The Patrol was assisted by the Perry County Sheriff’s Office.
The above arrest is mere accusation and is not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of these charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
