EMPHASIS: Boonville, MO, Man Arrested For Child Sex Crimes

The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC) announces the arrest of Lance A. Larkin, 35, of Boonville, MO, for child sex crimes following an investigation by the DDCC Special Victims Unit (SVU). SVU was assisted by troopers assigned to Troop F and members of the Cooper County Sheriff’s Office.

In August, while conducting an online child pornography investigation, SVU investigators searched online for offenders sharing child pornography. Investigators connected to a device at a specific IP address because it was associated with a file identified as child pornography. Larkin’s physical address was identified as the address associated with the graphic content.

On September 5, 2025, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in Boonville, MO. Investigators contacted and interviewed Larkin, and evidence of child pornography was seized. As a result, Larkin was arrested and transported to the Cooper County Jail.

The Cooper County Prosecuting Attorney formally charged Larkin with one count of felony Possession of Child Pornography and one count of felony Promoting Child Pornography. He is being held at the Cooper County Jail without bond.

The Division of Drug and Crime Control encourages internet users to promptly report to the Patrol or local law enforcement anyone who attempts to engage in unwanted, inappropriate, or sexualized communications with children.

The charges for which the above individual was arrested are mere accusations and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of these charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
