Troop A Announces Promotions
Captain Steven V. Wilhoit, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee’s Summit, announces the following promotions effective March 1, 2025.
Trooper Brennen S. Floray has been promoted to the rank of corporal and designated the assistant zone supervisor of Zone 6, serving the citizens of Jackson County. Floray was appointed to the Patrol on January 2, 2019, as a member of the 107th
Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, he was assigned to Troop A, Zone 4, serving the citizens of Clay County. He remained in Clay County until his promotion.
Corporal Floray was born in Marceline, Missouri. He graduated from Marceline High School in Marceline, Missouri in 2013. Before joining the Patrol, Corporal Floray attended Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science in 2017. Corporal Floray is engaged to be married in 2025.
Trooper R. Jayson Hastings has been promoted to the rank of corporal and designated the assistant zone supervisor of Zone 14, serving the citizens of Bates County. Corporal Hastings was appointed to the Patrol on July 1, 2009, as a member of the 90th Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, he was assigned to Troop A, Zone 11, serving the citizens of Cass County. In June 2014, Corporal Hastings was assigned to the Gaming Division and was stationed at the Ameristar Casino. In July of 2016, Corporal Hastings was assigned to Cass County where he remained until his promotion.
Corporal Hastings was born in Springfield, Missouri. He graduated in 1994 from Republic High School in Republic, Missouri. Before joining the Patrol, Corporal Hastings joined the U.S. Army, where he achieved the rank of sergeant. After his service in the U.S. Army, Corporal Hastings served the citizens of Lamar, Missouri, as a police officer before being accepted to the Patrol’s academy. Corporal Hastings is married and has two children.
