Captain Eddie A Blaylock Announces Promotions
Captain Eddie A. Blaylock, commanding officer of Troop I, Rolla, is pleased to announce the following promotions effective November 1, 2024.
Corporal Gary S. Sloan has been promoted to the rank of sergeant and designated as the supervisor of Zone 5, serving Laclede County. Sloan was appointed to the Patrol on July 1, 2013, as a member of the 97th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop I, Zone 5. In August 2019, Sloan was promoted to the rank of corporal and served as an assistant supervisor in Zone 5. Sergeant Sloan is a native of Conway, Missouri, and a 2004 graduate of Conway High School. After graduating, he went on to serve in the U.S. Army for eight years.
Trooper Kristopher Malay has been promoted to the rank of corporal and designated as the assistant supervisor of Zone 2. Malay was appointed to the Patrol on January 2, 2017, as a member of the 104th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop I, Zone 6, Pulaski and Maries counties.
Corporal Malay is a native of Asheville, North Carolina. Corporal Malay obtained his bachelor’s degree from Columbia College and was in the U.S. Army for 16 years.
