EMPHASIS: Patrol Announces Promotion.


Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer, Troop D, is pleased to announce effective December 1, 2010, Trooper Jeffery D. Fugett, Troop D, Zone 3, Polk County, was promoted to the rank of corporal and transferred to Zone 1, Greene County, as assistant zone commander.
Fugett was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and graduated from Ash Grove High School in 1990. He attended Northwest Missouri State University, in Maryville, Missouri. From 1991-1995, Fugett served as an infantry specialist with the 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York, United States Army. Appointed to the Patrol in 1998, Fugett was assigned to Troop A, Bates County. In November 2001, he transferred to Troop D, Polk County, where he has resided since his current promotion.
In 2001, Corporal Fugett received the Law Enforcement Traffic Safety Advisory Council (LETSAC) Officer of the Year Award. He is a board member for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Missouri Special Olympics, and in 2007, was selected to represent law enforcement officers at the Special Olympics World Games in China. He is also a member of the Troop D SWAT team.
Corporal Fugett is married to Kris (Hargis), and has two stepchildren: Jordon, 13, and Allyson, 11.
