Colonel Michael Turner Announces Promotions
Colonel Michael A. Turner, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, announces the following promotions, effective April 1, 2025:
Lieutenant Brandon M. White will be promoted to the rank of captain and will serve as the assistant director of the Field Operations Bureau.
White was appointed to the Patrol on January 16, 2001, as a member of the 78th Recruit Class. Upon completing his training at the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop F, Zone 8, Callaway County. In 2005, he transferred to Zone 11, serving Camden and Miller counties. He was promoted to corporal on May 13, 2007, and designated assistant supervisor of Zone 8, Callaway County. On July 9, 2009, he was promoted to sergeant and designated supervisor of Zone 9, Montgomery County. He transferred to the Training Division, General Headquarters, Jefferson City, and was designated an Academy Instructor on June 1, 2011. In May 2019, he was promoted to lieutenant and transferred to Troop F. On November 1, 2022, he transferred from Troop F to the Field Operations Bureau.
Captain White grew up in Houston, MO, and graduated from Houston High School in 1995. He earned an Associate of Science in criminal justice from Mineral Area College in Park Hills, MO. In 2018, White completed the Police Leadership: The WestPoint Model course. In 2021, he completed the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command.
Lieutenant Jon C. Pruiett will be promoted to the rank of captain and will serve as the commander of Troop I.
Pruiett was appointed to the Patrol on January 1, 1996, as a member of the 71st Recruit Class. Upon completing his training at the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy on June 14, he was assigned to Troop E, Zone 10, Dunklin County. On June 1, 2000, he transferred to Troop E, Zone 8, serving Pemiscot and New Madrid counties. He was promoted to corporal and designated assistant supervisor of Zone 8, Pemiscot and New Madrid counties, on January 1, 2001. He was promoted to sergeant on August 24, 2003, and designated supervisor of Zone 9, Pemiscot and New Madrid counties. He was promoted to lieutenant on June 1, 2010, and transferred to Troop C Headquarters in Weldon Spring, MO. Pruiett transferred to Troop E Headquarters in Poplar Bluff, MO on February 1, 2014.
Captain Pruiett grew up in Caruthersville, MO, and graduated from Caruthersville High School in 1987. He went on to earn an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice from Mineral Area College and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Southeast Missouri State University. He also completed the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command, the FBI- Law Enforcement Executive Development Association Leadership Training, the Leadership in Police Organizations training, and the Missouri Leadership Academy. Pruiett and his wife, Joyce, have six children and nine grandchildren, with one due in May.
