EMPHASIS: Lieutenant Brian N. Anderson Promoted To Captain

Colonel Michael A. Turner, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, announces Lieutenant Brian N. Anderson will be promoted to the rank of captain and will serve as the commander of Troop B, Macon, MO, effective August 1, 2026.

Anderson joined the Patrol in July 1995, as a member of the 70th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in December 1995, he was assigned to Troop B, Zone 11, serving the citizens of Randolph and Monroe counties. In June 1999, Anderson transferred to Zone 1, Macon County. He was promoted to corporal and was assigned to Troop B, Zone 2, serving the citizens of Macon and Shelby counties, in April 2002. In October 2003, Anderson was promoted to sergeant and transferred to Zone 11. He was promoted to lieutenant in February 2008, and transferred to Troop A, Lee’s Summit, MO. In April 2010, Anderson transferred to Troop B.

Captain Anderson is a native of Queen City, MO, and graduated from Schuyler R-I High School in Lancaster, MO, in May 1991. In 1995, he earned a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice/law enforcement from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO. Capt. Anderson attended Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command in July 2014. In July 2020, he completed Police Leadership: The West Point Model. Capt. Anderson and his wife, Michele, have two children.
