EMPHASIS: Troop B Promotions


Captain John W. Elliott, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, is pleased to announce the promotions of two Troop B officers effective January 6, 2008.
Corporal Kevin C. Kelley, of Brookfield, Missouri, was promoted to sergeant and designated the zone commander of Zone 10, which serves the citizens of Monroe and Randolph counties. Kelly, a native of Brookfield, Missouri, was appointed to the Patrol on July 1, 1994. After graduating from the Patrol Academy, he was assigned to Troop B and stationed in Hannibal, Missouri. Since that time he has been assigned to Zone 1, Macon; Zone 10, Moberly; Zone 5, Kirksville; and Zone 3, Brookfield. He is a graduate of Brookfield R-3 High School and holds a bachelor’s of science degree in criminal justice from Culver Stockton College in Canton, Missouri. Sergeant Kelley has three children: Ashley, Brooke, and Kathryn.
Trooper Tim D. Shoop, of Rothville, Missouri, was promoted to corporal and designated the assistant zone commander of Zone 3, which serves the citizens of Chariton and Linn counties. Shoop, a native of Chillicothe, Missouri, was appointed to the Patrol on August 1, 1993. After graduating from the Patrol Academy, he was assigned to Troop A, Clay County. During his tenure in Troop A, he was also assigned to Platte County and served as the Troop A training officer. On June 1, 2001, he transferred to Troop B and was stationed in Rothville, Missouri. He is a graduate of Chillicothe High School and served in the United States Army for four years. Prior to his employment with the Patrol, he served as a police officer in Trenton, Missouri. Corporal Shoop is married to Christina (Bilderback) of Chillicothe, Missouri, and they have one daughter: Brooke.
