EMPHASIS: Lt. Brent Drummond Will Be Promoted To Captain

Lieutenant Colonel Eric T. Olson, acting superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, announces the following promotion effective February 1, 2019:

Lieutenant Brent J. Drummond, assistant director of the Public Information and Education Division, General Headquarters, Jefferson City, MO, is being promoted to captain and will transfer to the Patrol Records Division where he will serve as director of the division.

Drummond joined the Patrol as a member of the 78th Recruit Class on January 16, 2001. Upon graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop F, Zone 7, Howard & Cooper counties. Drummond was promoted to corporal and designated assistant zone supervisor of Zone 7 in February 2006. He remained in this zone after being promoted to sergeant in September 2007, and being designated zone supervisor. In September 2016, Drummond was promoted to lieutenant and assigned to the Patrol Records Division, General Headquarters, Jefferson City, MO, where he served as custodian of records. He transferred to the Public Information and Education Division on September 1, 2018, where he served as assistant director.

Drummond grew up in Glasgow, MO, where he graduated from Glasgow High School in 1996. He earned a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, MO, in 2000. Capt. Drummond and his wife have three children.
