EMPHASIS: Officer Involved Shooting In Ripley County

On April 6, 2025, at approximately 2:13 p.m., the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance with a barricaded male subject at a residence seven miles west of Doniphan. Arriving officers determined that the man was armed with a knife. At approximately 5:33 p.m., the subject, still armed with a knife, moved toward a Ripley County Deputy and a Missouri State Trooper. Verbal commands were given to the subject to drop the knife, but he did not comply. The armed subject continued toward the deputy and both officers fired their weapons, striking him. Medical aid was provided; however, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The officers were not injured in this incident.

The investigation is ongoing by criminal investigators with the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control. Upon completion of the investigation, the reports will be forwarded to the Ripley County Prosecuting Attorney for review.
