Troop I To Conduct Boater Safety Class On March 4, 2017
Captain James W. Remillard, commanding officer, Troop I, Rolla, announces a boater safety class will be conducted at Troop I Headquarters in Rolla, Missouri, on Saturday, March 4, 2017. The class will start at 8 a.m. and will conclude at 4 p.m. Any person born after January 1, 1984 and operating a vessel on Missouri lakes is required to have a valid Missouri boater safety card. To sign up for the classes, please go the Missouri State Highway Patrol website at www.mshp.dps.missouri.gov. On the left side of the main page look for the tab entitled “Training” and select Boat Safety and Education, select Rolla as the correct site, fill out the registration form, and then select submit. A lunch break will be taken but a meal will not be provided. Those attending are welcome to bring a sack lunch. The class is free of charge. Permanent cards can be ordered for a charge of $15 each. There will be a maximum of 20 students allowed for this class.
Watercraft operators must consider the effect their actions have on others: Share the waterway, and use common sense, good judgment, and courtesy to ensure the safety of all. Life jackets save lives. Wear It!!
