Wisconsin Man Arrested For Receiving Stolen Property In Connection To Missouri Cattle Theft
The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control announces the arrest of Jordan R. Leisgang, 27, of Seymour, Wisconsin. Leisgang was arrested on July 25, 2024, for receiving stolen property after an investigation by the Rural Crimes Unit of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control. The Howell County Sheriff’s Office, Outagamie County Sheriff's Office (Wisconsin), and the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Justice assisted with the investigation.
In November of 2023, the Howell County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the Rural Crimes Unit of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control with an alleged livestock theft, which occurred in their county. A Howell County resident reported that in August of 2023, he helped facilitate the purchase and transportation of 450 head of cattle, from a Salem, Arkansas sale barn, for Jordan R. Leisgang, of Seymour, Wisconsin. The victim reported after the delivery of the livestock was made in Wisconsin, Leisgang refused to issue payment for the cattle and ended communication with him. On July 17, 2024, a Howell County Grand Jury indicted Leisgang for receiving stolen property, in connection to the cattle theft investigation. On July 25, 2024, Wisconsin authorities arrested Leisgang for the Howell County arrest warrant, stemming from the Howell County Grand Jury indictment. Leisgang is currently awaiting extradition to Missouri where he has a $100,000.00 bond.
The above charges are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of these charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
