EMPHASIS: Corporal Kevin E. Linear Retires


Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces effective March 1, 2017, Corporal Kevin E. Linear will retire with over 26 years of dedicated service.
Linear was appointed to the Patrol on July 1, 1990, as a member of the 63rd Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol Academy, he was assigned to Troop B, Zone 1, Macon and Shelby counties, and was stationed in Macon, Missouri. In February 2004, he was promoted to corporal and designated the assistant zone commander of Zone 1. It is from this assignment that Linear retires. During his career, Linear was a field training officer, assisted with training recruits in traffic stop techniques, and was assigned to numerous State Fair details.
Corporal Linear is a native of Bowling Green, Missouri, and graduated from Bowling Green High School and attended Hannibal-La Grange College in Hannibal, Missouri. He is married to Mary (Yaw) and they have three children: Jayde Linear and MyKel Linear of Macon, Missouri; and Jakeb Linear of Hannibal, Missouri. He also has two stepsons, Robert Bentley of Quincy, Illinois; and Trenton Bentley, who is currently stationed at Travis Air Force Base in California; and four grandchildren.
