EMPHASIS:
Results Of Special Enforcement Projects--Labor Day
Captain James E. McDonald, commanding officer of Troop H, St. Joseph, announces the results of the special enforcement projects over the Labor Day holiday. The projects encompassed two days--August 30, 2019, and September 2, 2019--designated as the peak travel days for the holiday period. As a result of the projects, officers issued 158 citations and 249 warnings. Officers also made four misdemeanor drug arrests and three misdemeanor warrant arrests, and assisted 34 motorists during the holiday period.
Troop H officers conducted two DWI saturations during the Labor Day holiday covering the following counties: Andrew, Buchanan, Daviess Dekalb. As a result of those saturations, officers issued 15 citations and 71 warnings, and assisted eight motorists. Officers also made five misdemeanor drug arrests.
“Troopers were out in force over the Labor Day holiday, and their vigorous enforcement efforts along with increased visibility helped keep Missouri motorists safer while traveling through Troop H,” stated Captain McDonald.
The only 100 percent survivable traffic crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Every day as we travel on Missouri's roadways, we trust that every driver on the road is going to obey the speed limit, pay attention, and drive sober.
"Don't Violate The Trust."
