On December 27, 2025, the Bourbon Police Department requested the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC) investigate a death, which occurred at a residence in Bourbon, MO.
On December 27, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the Bourbon Police Department responded to a residence located in the 100 block of Hickory Street, in Bourbon, MO. Crawford County Dispatch received a report of a woman who had been possibly attacked by canines inside the residence. Upon arrival, first responders located a female inside the residence along with two canines. First responders attempted to provide medical care; however, the female died at the scene. Next of kin notification has been made for the deceased. The female was identified as Angel M. Rawlings, 22, of Bourbon, MO.
DDCC investigators responded to the scene and the preliminary investigation revealed the victim had wounds consistent with canine bites. The canines were removed from the residence by Cuba Animal Control and are being held at the Cuba Animal Shelter.
This investigation is ongoing and an autopsy has been scheduled through the Crawford County Coroner’s Office. To maintain the integrity of the investigation, further details are not being released at this time.
