EMPHASIS: Ten New Troopers Assigned To Troop C
On December 17, 2010, 36 new troopers graduated from the Missouri State Highway Patrol Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City. The six-month training program consisted of more than 1,000 hours of intense classroom and practical training as well as a rigorous physical fitness regimen. Troop C’s commander, Captain Ronald S. Johnson, is proud to announce that 10 troopers have been assigned to Troop C and will begin patrolling local roadways after completion of a three-month field training period.
The following troopers have been assigned to Troop C, Weldon Spring:
Trooper Matthew T. Angrisani, 26, a native of Meridian, MS, was assigned to Zone 4, St. Louis County. Trooper Angrisani is a graduate of St. Louis University High School in St. Louis, MO. Trooper Angrisani attended the University of Missouri St. Louis and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies. Before his commission he worked as a personal trainer in the greater St. Louis area.
Trooper Marc R. Ashby, 30, a native of Warren, OH, was assigned to Zone 3, St. Louis County. Trooper Ashby graduated from Rockwood Summit High School in Fenton, MO. Trooper Ashby attended college at Meramec Junior College and the University of Missouri St. Louis. He and his wife, Megan, currently reside in Jackson, MO. Before his commission he was a police officer for three and a half years with the Cape Girardeau Police Department.
Trooper Robert B. Botfield, 43, a native of Berwyn, PA, was assigned to Zone 13, Jefferson County. Trooper Botfield is a graduate of Conestoga High School in Berwyn, PA. Trooper Botfield served in the United States Marine Corps after graduating from high school. He and his wife, Tricia, have one child, Maddison, 14. Before his commission he worked as a postal worker in Chesterfield, MO.
Trooper John R. Henry, 23, a native of St. Louis, MO, was assigned to Zone 5, Pike/Lincoln counties. Trooper Henry graduated from Lindbergh High School in South St. Louis County. Trooper Henry graduated from Meramec Junior College, in St. Louis, with an associate’s degree in business administration. He and his wife, Cassandra, have one child, Lincoln, three months.
Trooper Jason M. Hurt, 37, a native of St. Louis, MO, was assigned to Zone 10, Franklin County. Trooper Hurt resides in Sullivan, MO, and graduated from Pacific High School. Trooper Hurt enlisted in the United States Navy soon after graduating from high school and is currently in the Navy Reserves. He and his wife, Kimberly, have three children: Brittney, 16, Ethan, 6, and Levi, 8. Before his commission he was a heavy equipment operator in St. Louis, MO.
Trooper Zachary C. Kral, 24, a native of Springfield, MO, was assigned to Zone 1, serving North St. Louis County. Trooper Kral is a graduate of Glendale High School, Springfield, MO, and has a bachelor's of science degree in hospitality and restaurant management from Missouri State University, Springfield. Before his commission he worked as a commissary supervisor for Ozark Food services.
Trooper Adam J. Michels, age 25, a native of Breese, IL, was assigned Zone 4, serving South St. Louis County. Trooper Michels is a graduate of Mater Dei High School, Breese, IL and has a bachelor's of science degree from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. Before his commission he worked as a bus driver for Central Transit in Breese, IL.
Trooper Kenneth A. Romero, age 27, a native of Florissant, MO, was assigned Zone 1, serving north St. Louis County. Trooper Romero is a graduate of McClure North High School, Florissant, MO, and has a bachelor's of science degree from Lindenwood University, St. Charles. Before his commission he was a student.
Trooper Scott T. Ronald, age 23, a native of Gillespie, IL, was assigned Zone 7, serving Warren County. Trooper Ronald is a graduate of Gillespie High School, Gillespie, IL, and has a bachelor's of science degree in law enforcement and justice administration from Western Illinois University, Macomb. Before his commission he worked as a coal miner in Farmersville, IL.
Trooper Zachary S. Wang, age 23, a native of East Peoria, IL, was assigned Zone 7, serving Warren County. Trooper Wang is a graduate of East Peoria Community High School, East Peoria, IL, and has a bachelor's of science degree from Western Illinois University, Macomb. Before is commission he worked in loss prevention for Macy's department store in Peoria, IL.
