EMPHASIS: Lieutenant Daniel S. Bracker Retires

Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, Springfield, announces effective March 1, 2018, Lieutenant Daniel S. Bracker will retire with over 26 years of dedicated service. Bracker was appointed to the Patrol on January 1, 1992, as a member of the 64th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, he was assigned to Troop D, Zone 14, serving Barry County. In 1994, he transferred to Zone 12, Christian County, and in 1997, was promoted to corporal and designated assistant zone supervisor for the Christian County zone. In 2001, Bracker was assigned as public information and education officer serving Troop D. He was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2003, during that assignment. On March 1, 2011, he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant, where he has served the citizens of Troop D until his retirement.

A native of Joplin, Lieutenant Bracker graduated from Parkwood High School in 1982. In 1987, he graduated from Missouri State University, Springfield, with a bachelor’s degree in communications. Lieutenant Bracker and his wife, Tamara “Tammy” (Schafer), are the proud parents of two daughters: Abby (Bracker) Wright and Hannah. He is also the father-in-law of Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper Tyler Wright, of Clinton, Missouri.
