EMPHASIS: Troop D Promotion And Transfers


Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, Springfield, announces the promotion of Trooper D. Scott Rice and the transfer of four other troopers during the months of May and June.

Effective May 1, 2011, Trooper D. Scott Rice was promoted to the rank of corporal and designated assistant zone supervisor in Zone 4, Stone and Taney counties. Prior to his promotion, Corporal Rice was assigned to Zone 12, Christian County. Born in Aurora, Missouri, Corporal Rice graduated from Reeds Spring, Missouri, High School in 1982. He was employed as a motor vehicle inspector with the Patrol from December 1991 until December 1994, when he was appointed as a member of the 69th Missouri State Highway Patrol Recruit Class. Following graduation, Corporal Rice was first assigned to Taney County. He then transferred to Zone 12 in 1998 where he remained until his promotion. Corporal Rice is married to Sheila (Smith) and they have one son, Adam, who is a trooper assigned to Troop H, St. Joseph.

Effective May 1, 2011, Trooper Jeffrey T. Day transferred from Troop B, Macon to Troop D. He has been assigned to Zone 9, serving the citizens of Cedar and St. Clair counties. A native of Carthage, Missouri, Trooper Day graduated from Carthage High School in 2002 and attended Missouri Southern State University, Joplin. He served in the United State Marine Corps Reserve from 2003 until 2009, attaining the rank of sergeant. Trooper Day was appointed to the Patrol in 2007 as a member of the 86th Recruit Class and upon graduation was assigned to Linn and Chariton counties in Troop B. While in Troop B he was a member of the Special Weapons and Tactics Team (S.W.A.T.) and a 2010 recipient of the Patrol’s Life Saving Award. Trooper Day is the son of Randy and Linda Day, Carthage.

Effective May 1, 2011, Trooper William S. Lashmet transferred from Troop H, St. Joseph to Troop D. He has been assigned to Zone 10, serving the citizens of Webster County. Trooper Lashmet was born in Sikeston, Missouri, and graduated from Glendale High School, Springfield, in 1996. He attended Missouri State University, Springfield, and graduated in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems. Appointed to the Patrol in 2005, Trooper Lashmet was first assigned to Holt and Atchison counties in Troop H. He is married to Christina (Taylor) and they are the parents of a daughter, Harper, 10 months.

Effective May 22, 2011 Trooper Chad C. Clark transferred from Troop D, Zone 13, Newton and McDonald counties to Zone 3, Polk County. Trooper Clark was born in Springfield, Missouri, and graduated from Greenfield High School, Greenfield, Missouri, in 1997. He attended College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri, and graduated in 2001, with a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Science. He began his career with the Patrol in May 2005, and was first assigned to Saline County in Troop A. He then transferred to Troop D in 2008. Trooper Clark is married to Angela (Mitchell) of Greenfield and they have one child, Wyatt, 1. He is the son of Charles and Patricia Clark, Arcola, Missouri.

Effective June 1, 2011, Trooper Bradley L. Crockett transferred from Troop D, Zone 9, Cedar and St. Clair counties to Zone 11, Jasper County. A native of Lamar, Missouri, Trooper Crockett graduated from Lamar High School in 2005. He attended Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas and Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Missouri, graduating in 2008 with an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice. Upon completion of the Patrol Academy in 2008, he was assigned to Cedar and St. Clair counties. Trooper Crockett is married to Jeni (Casey), formerly of Pittsburg, Kansas. He is the son of Darrel and Judy Crockett, Lamar.
