EMPHASIS: Troop F Releases Results Of DWI Saturation Operations Conducted In Lake Of The Ozarks Area

Captain Michael A. Turner, commanding officer, Troop F, Jefferson City, announces the results of a DWI saturation operation in the Lake of the Ozarks area. The operation was held from July 6, 2017, through July 8, 2017. During the enforcement operation, four officers patrolled the Lake of the Ozarks area, including Camden, Morgan, and Miller counties with a focus on arresting impaired drivers and other traffic violations that contribute to traffic crashes.

During the operation, troopers stopped 111 vehicles. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation.

Misdemeanor DWI/Alcohol Arrests -- 8
Misdemeanor DWI/Drug Arrests -- 2
Other Misdemeanor Citations/Arrests -- 60
Other Felony Arrests -- 3

"Special enforcement operations such as these enable the Missouri State Highway Patrol to enhance our efforts in removing impaired drivers from our highways," stated Captain Turner. "Driving while impaired continues to be a major contributing factor of traffic crashes in Missouri."

The only 100 percent survivable traffic crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Every day as we travel on Missouri’s roadways, we trust that every driver on the road is going to obey the speed limit, pay attention, and drive sober. “Don’t Violate The Trust.”
