A2026-01 January 28, 2026 EMPHASIS: Sergeant Mark D. DeGraffenreid Promoted to Lieutenant
Captain Gregory D. Primm, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee's Summit, announces effective February 1, 2026, Sergeant Mark D. DeGraffenreid will be promoted to the rank of lieutenant and assigned to Troop A Headquarters.
Lieutenant DeGraffenreid was appointed to the Patrol on October 20, 2002, as a member of the 80th Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol's Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, he was assigned to Troop A, Zone 13, serving Pettis County. In 2009, DeGraffenreid was promoted to corporal, and remained in Zone 13, Pettis County. On April 1, 2011, DeGraffenreid was promoted to sergeant and designated the zone commander of Zone 10, Saline County. On June 1, 2013, DeGraffenreid transferred to Zone 13, Pettis County, as the zone commander, where he remained until his promotion.
Lieutenant DeGraffenreid was born in Jefferson City, MO. He graduated from the School of the Osage High School, in Osage Beach, MO, in 1995. Lieutenant DeGraffenreid earned a bachelor's degree in history and secondary education in 2001, from Missouri State University, in Springfield, MO. Lieutenant DeGraffenreid is married and has three children.
