EMPHASIS:
Ten New Troopers Assigned To Troop C
Captain Stephen B. Ferrier, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, is pleased to announce the assignment of 10 new troopers to Troop C. The new troopers were members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s 111th Recruit Class and graduated from the Patrol Academy on July 23, 2020. The new troopers from the 111th Recruit Class will report for duty on August 9, 2021.
Trooper Cyle C. Battreal, a native of West Plains, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 16, serving the citizens of Ste. Genevieve and Perry counties. Trooper Battreal is a 2015 graduate of West Plains High School in West Plains. From August 2016 until August 2020, Trooper Battreal served in the United Stated Marine Corps.
Trooper Dylan H. Bert, a native of Cypress, Texas, has been assigned to Zone 8, serving the citizens of St. Charles County. Trooper Bert is a 2016 graduate of Cypress Woods High School in Cypress, Texas. Trooper Bert attended Sam Houston State University, in Huntsville, Texas, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice in 2020.
Trooper Almedin Birdzo, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 5, serving the citizens of Pike and Lincoln counties. Trooper Birdzo is a 2015 graduate of Affton High School in St. Louis, Missouri. Trooper Birdzo attended St. Louis Community College-Meremac in St. Louis, Missouri, where he earned an associate of science degree in criminal justice in 2020.
Trooper Collin P. Brown, a native of Festus, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 11, serving the citizens of Franklin County. Trooper Brown is a 2018 graduate of Festus High School in Festus. After graduation, Trooper Brown attended Jefferson Community College where he received an associate of arts degree. In September 2017, Trooper Brown joined the United States Army. Trooper Brown continues to serve as a member of the United States Army as a psychological operations specialist.
Trooper Zachary T. Chastain, a native of Crane, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 10, serving the citizens of Franklin County. Trooper Chastain is a 2015 graduate of Crane High School in Crane, Missouri. After graduation, Trooper Chastain attended Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri, and received a Bachelor of Arts in criminology in 2019.
Trooper Raymond M. Dressler, a native of Millstadt, Illinois, has been assigned to Zone 7, serving the citizens of Warren County. Trooper Dressler is a 2012 graduate of Belleville West High School in Belleville, Illinois. After graduation, Trooper Dressler attended Southwest Illinois College in Belleville, Illinois where he received a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice in 2020. Trooper Dressler served as a member of the United States Marine Corps from 2012 to 2016.
Trooper Christopher A. Gates, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 1, serving the citizens of north St. Louis County. Trooper Gates is a 2017 graduate of St. Mary’s High School in St. Louis, Missouri. After graduation, Trooper Gates enlisted in the Army National Guard. He continues to serve in the Guard as a horizontal construction engineer.
Trooper Kaleig A. Mitchell, a native of Kansas City, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 5, serving the citizens of Pike and Lincoln counties. Trooper Mitchell is a 2009 graduate of Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri. After graduation, Trooper Kaleig attended Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri, where he received a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice in 2014.
Trooper Matthew Smith, has been assigned to Zone 4, serving the citizens of south St. Louis County. Trooper Smith spent his childhood in Durban, Kwazulu Natal, South Africa. Trooper Smith later moved to the United States and obtained his general educational development diploma from Harris-Stowe State University in St. Louis, Missouri, in 2017. Trooper Smith has served in the United States Air Force Reserve since 2019 as an aerospace medical services technician. He has continued his college education at Community College of the Air Force. Trooper Smith was originally employed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol in 2017 as a motor vehicle inspector assigned to Troop C.
Trooper Jeffrey J. Wilt, a native of Shelbina, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 14, serving the citizens of St. Francois and Washington counties. Trooper Wilt is a 2018 graduate of Shelbina High School in Shelbina, Missouri. After graduation, Trooper Wilt attended Moberly Area Community College where he received an associate of arts degree in 2019.
