EMPHASIS: Troop F Announces Results Of "Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over"

Captain Corey J. Schoeneberg, commanding officer of Troop F, Jefferson City, announces the results of enforcement operations conducted during the 2019 national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, from August 16, to September 2, 2019.

A total of 47 people were arrested for driving while intoxicated and 17 people were arrested for boating while intoxicated in Troop F during the 18 days of the campaign. Troopers also conducted DWI saturations in selected areas over the three weekends of this enforcement period. The DWI saturations were conducted in Boone, Camden and Cole counties. Totals from the saturations include:

119 -- traffic stops
6 -- arrests for driving while intoxicated
10 -- speed citations
5 -- seat belt citations
6 -- hazardous moving violation citations
3 -- uninsured motorist citations
3 -- no driver license/suspended/revoked citations
3 -- arrests for misdemeanor drug violations
4 -- arrests for outstanding misdemeanor warrants
160 -- warnings
26 -- motorist assists

“Our objective is to save lives,” stated Captain Schoeneberg. “We will do everything we can to prevent knocking on a door to tell someone their loved one has been killed in a crash.”

The only 100 percent survivable traffic crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Every day as we travel on Missouri’s roadways, we trust that every driver on the road is going to obey the speed limit, pay attention, and drive sober. “Don’t Violate The Trust.”
