EMPHASIS: Patrol's Gaming Division Announces March 1, 2018 Promotion
Captain Larry W. Plunkett Jr., director of the Gaming Division, General Headquarters, Jefferson City, MO, announces the following promotion effective March 1, 2018:
Corporal H. Bradshaw Cowan, Q/GD, is being promoted to the rank of sergeant and will remain assigned to the Gaming Division. He will serve as assistant officer-in-charge at the Ameristar Casino in Kansas City, MO.
Cowan was appointed to the Patrol on January 1, 1997, as a member of the 73rd Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol's Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop H, Zone 1, Atchison and Holt counties. He transferred to Zone 4, Mercer and Grundy counties in June 2001. Cowan was promoted to corporal in 2007, and designated assistant zone supervisor of Gentry and Harrison counties. He transferred to the Gaming Division, General Headquarters, in July 2014, where he was assigned to the Ameristar Casino in Kansas City, MO. In October 2015, Cowan was designated the assistant officer-in-charge there.
Sergeant Cowan was born in Clinton, MO. He graduated from Grain Valley High School in Grain Valley, MO, in 1991. He served in the Missouri Army National Guard from February 1992 until February 2005, attaining the rank of staff sergeant before being honorably discharged. He attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO. Sgt. Cowan and his wife, Lynda (Cottrell), have one daughter, Braelyn.
