Troop H: Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Seizure In Andrew County
At approximately 5:21 p.m. on March 22, 2017, a state trooper stopped a southbound 2013 Honda Civic on Interstate 29 at the 53-mile marker in Andrew County. Circumstances led to the trooper requesting a consent search of the vehicle. The search revealed 47 pounds of marijuana and two handguns.
The driver, Elias Ramirez-Aguilar, 22, of Wenatchee, Washington, and passengers Guillermo Cortez-Guzman, 21, of Fellsmere, Florida; Rosario Perez-Rodriguez, of Wenatchee, Washington; and Beatriz Luna-Serato, of Wenatchee, Washington, were arrested for possession of a controlled substance, delivery of a controlled substance, and unlawful use of a weapon. The suspects were transported to the Andrew County Sheriff’s Department in Savannah, Missouri.
The charges for which the above persons were arrested are mere accusations and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the above charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence.
