EMPHASIS:
Missing Person Raffaella Maria Stroik Found Deceased
Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces that at approximately 9:40 a.m. on November 14, 2018, Raffaella M. Stroik, 23, of St. Louis, Missouri, was found deceased in Mark Twain Lake, south of the Mark Twain Lake State Park Highway 107 boat ramp, in rural Monroe County. A private plane pilot located what he believed to be a person in the water and notified the Patrol. Members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol Water Patrol Division responded and recovered Stroik’s body. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
A press conference will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Mark Twain Lake State Park Highway 107 boat ramp, south of U.S. Highway 24, in Monroe County. Additional details will be released at that time.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is being assisted by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Missouri Department of Conservation, Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office, Monroe City Fire Department, Monroe City Ambulance District, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and Moberly Area Community College Law Enforcement Training Center. Friends and family of Stroik also helped with the search.
